by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — The Wellington Police are looking for three subjects who have caused up to $3,000, said Tracy Heath, Wellington Police Chief.

“It appears to be teenager boys who were doing some criminal mischief,” Heath said, from grainy images from surveillance cameras at an undisclosed at Worden Park.

The damage included:

•Trash cans tipped over and hung on signs (trash was all over the place)
•The suspects got onto fields one and two and knocked over the 200-foot outfield fence. Pieces of fence were broken off.
•One foul pole was broken off (foul pole made out of pvc pipe on 200-foot fence).
•Ball screens or pitching screens were broken in the batting cages.
•The netting behind the catcher in the bullpen on field one behind the third base dugout was torn with a knife.

The Wellington Police is seeking the community’s assistance, Heath said. Anyone with information on this crime should call the Wellington Police Department at 620-326-3331.
