Rita Annette Freeman, of Wichita, died unexpectedly on February 11, 2021, at the age of 60. She was born on April 22, 1960, in Edgewater, Florida, and was adopted as a teenager by Harley and Lucille Freeman.

Rita was raised in Wellington and moved to Wichita, as a young woman and has resided there since. She enjoyed spending time writing and will be missed by her family.

Survivors include her parents, Harley and Lucille Freeman of Wellington; brother, Bert Freeman of Wellington; sister, Dixie Pennington of Wellington; brother, JR Freeman of Wellington, Kansas along with a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

There are no services planned for Rita.
