Ron Jefferies

Ronald Eugene Jeffries, of Wellington, died at his home with his family by his side on March 20, 2023, at the age of 71.

Ron was born the son of George and Wanda (Wampler) Jeffries on May 4, 1951, in Wellington.

After dating in high school and reconnecting sometime later, Ron married his high school sweetheart, Lana Stamm, on September 18, 1992, in Wellington, and the two spent over 30 incredible years together. Ron enjoyed his work and was able to be self-employed with his construction business in Wellington. If he wasn’t working, Ron was always tinkering with something to keep himself busy and was the person the family would turn to if something needed fixing or working on. Ron cherished his family and the time he spent with them, he looked forward to planning trips with them to the mountains and annual trips to Cozumel, Mexico, with Lana. Ron was also very proud to sit on the Board of Directors at Sumner County Electric for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lana Jeffries of Wellington; children: Ryan Altendorf and wife Carmen of Wellington; Amy Altendorf of Wellington; Crystal Jesseph and husband Matt of Wellington; Ashley Harris and husband Steve of Pipersville, Pennsylvania; Nathan Jeffries and wife Alicia of Wellington and Desiree Westmoreland and husband Jeff of Wellington; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Charlie Jeffries and wife Connie of Wellington; Tresea Edgington of Wellington; Roxanne Jackson and husband Ken of Wellington and Georgetta Ferguson and husband Jeff of Wellington.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Wanda Jeffries.

A graveside service for Ron will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on  Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 201 E. Harvey Ave., Wellington.

A memorial has been established with the Avenue of Flags. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
