These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas vs. Brett Allen Shoemaker.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-106. Year of Birth: 1979

Address: Belle Plaine. Date of the alleged crime: April 26, 2025. 

1 — Violation of Protective Order, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Shoemaker is accused of sending a Facebook friend request to a person with whom he was ordered not to come in contact as a condition of his bond release on April 8, 2024.

State of Kansas vs. Drew David Sims. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-107. Year of Birth: 1982. 

Address: Hutchinson. Date of the alleged crime: Feb. 25, 2025. 

1 — Forgery, Level 8 felony (prior forgery convictions, Nov. 19, 2001, Reno County District Court). 

2 — Forgery, Level 8 felony, (prior convictions, Nov. 19, 2001, Nov. 24, 20214).

3 — Identity Fraud, level 8 felony.

4 — Passing a worthless check, Class A misdemeanor.

5 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Sims is accused of forging a check for $442.68 to purchase batteries at Oxford Saw and Mower.

State of Kansas vs. Jimmie Artie Jude.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-108. Year of Birth: 1980.

Address: Hunnewell. Date of the alleged crime: April 1, 2025. 

1 — Violation of the Kansas Registration Act, level 6 felony. 

Description: Jude is accused of failing to report in person four times during the year to the registering law enforcement agency in the county as required after a 2010 sexual battery conviction.

State of Kansas vs. Jahmarious Johnson.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-109. Year of Birth: 2006.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: April 15, 2025. 

1 — Criminal threat, level 9 felony. 

Description: Johnson is accused of during an argument with his girlfriend of threatening to shoot her roommate.

State of Kansas vs. Tyson James Hawk

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-110. Year of Birth: 1984. 

Address: Belle Plaine. Date of the alleged crime: Jan. 30, 2025. 

1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Hawk is accused of stealing a victim’s wallet, which he left on a pharmacy counter, and took over $400 in cash from within before disposing of the wallet.

State of Kansas vs. Wilmer Cantarero-Canales. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-111. Year of Birth: 1979.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: April 25, 2025. 

1 — Driving while suspended – third or subsequent offense. 

2 — Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

3 — Reckless driving – first offense, unclassified misdemeanor.

Description: Cantarero-Canales is accused of operating a motor vehicle on a highway when his privileges to do so were canceled, suspended, or revoked. He also allegedly drove a vehicle down the road in a fast, reckless, and threatening manner while verbally threatening a couple with violence.

State of Kansas vs. Cami Renee Schmidt. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-112. Year of Birth: 1975. 

Address: Belle Plaine. Date of the alleged crime: Between March 21, 2024 and Feb. 20, 2025. 

1 — Theft, level 9 felony. 

Description: Schmidt is accused of stealing merchandise by “skip scanning” or “ticket switching” at the Wellington Walmart. Allegedly, she used the self-checkout 65 separate and distinct times to steal items. The aggregate loss to Walmart was $1,154.82.

State of Kansas vs. Cami Renee Schmidt.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-113. Year of Birth: 1975. 

Address: Belle Plaine. Date of the alleged crime: Feb. 23, 2025. 

1 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Schmidt is accused of stealing a bottle of Dorothy Lynch salad dressing and a Wahl air Clipper kit.

State of Kansas vs. Nathan Carl Owens. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-114. Year of Birth: 1983.

Address: Milan. Date of the alleged crime: May 11, 2025. 

1 — Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, level 7 felony. 

2 — Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, level 7 felony.

3 — Criminal damage to property, level 9 felony.

4  — Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

5 — Unlawful discharge of a firearm with city limits, Class B misdemeanor.

6 — Aggravated endangering a child, level 9 felony.

Description: Owens is accused of during an argument of obtaining a rifle and pointing it at a victim and then threatening her. Allegedly, he ultimately shot her car six times, causing damage to the passenger door and the front grill, and exceeding $1,000 in damages. During the incident, he allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend, her new boyfriend, her child, and her grandchildren while within the Argonia city limits.

State of Kansas vs. Derell Jaha Williams.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-115. Year of Birth: 2004.

Address: Oklahoma City, Okla. Date of the alleged crime: April 19, 2025.

1 — Possession of marijuana (THC), Class B misdemeanor. 

2 — Possession of paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

3 — Criminal carrying of a weapon (possession under 21), Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Williams is accused of possessing a quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia. He also allegedly possessed a Glock handgun when he had not turned 21.

State of Kansas vs. Jamie Lynn Prince. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-116. Year of Birth: 1991.

Address: Anthony. Date of the alleged crime: May 12, 2025. 

1 — Theft, level 9 felony. 

2 — Interference with law enforcement, level 9 felony.

Description: Prince is accused of stealing a 2006 Ford Freestyle automobile from a victim and refusing to give it back despite being told to do so. Allegedly, law enforcement had to forcibly remove her from the vehicle before charging her with theft.

State of Kansas vs. Randy Allen Norland.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-117. Year of Birth: 1997.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 9, 2025. 

1 — Violation of a protective order, class A misdemeanor. 

2 — Violation of a protective order, Class A misdemeanor.

Description: Norland is accused of going to the residence of a victim of a temporary Protection From Abuse order. After being arrested, he then attempted to call the protected person multiple times from the Sumner County Jail.

State of Kansas vs. Michael Ryan Harbison.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-119. Year of Birth: 1982.

Address: Arkansas City. Date of the alleged crime: April 6, 2025. 

1 — Attempted Aggravated Burglary of a Dwelling, level 6 felony. 

Description: Harbison is accused of entering the home of a victim and making himself a meal of two cheeseburgers and a soda before attempting to rob the place. The homeowner discovered his presence and intercepted him before he could commit the offense.

State of Kansas vs. James Ricky Gressel.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-120. Year of Birth: 1993.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: May 12, 2025.

1 — Interference with law enforcement, Class A misdemeanor. 

2 — Driving while suspended, Class B misdemeanor.

3 — Vehicle registration violation, unclassified misdemeanor.

4 — No proof of insurance, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Gressel is accused of actively resisting arrest while being arrested for traffic offenses. He also allegedly operated a motor vehicle with a suspended license, lacked the proper car registration, and had no insurance.

State of Kansas vs. Dylan Robert Chase.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-121. Year of Birth: 2001.

Address: South Haven. Date of the alleged crime: April 23, 2025. 

1 — Disorderly Conduct, Class C misdemeanor. 

2 — Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, level 7 felony.

Description: Chase is accused of engaging in fighting words with fellow inmate Zane Tilcock. After being subdued by Tilcock in the brawl, Chase allegedly went to his pod and obtained a pencil and stuck it in his neck.

State of Kansas vs. Zane Tilcock.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-122. Year of Birth: 2004

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: April 23, 2025. 

1 — Disorderly conduct, Class C misdemeanor. 

2 — Aggravated battery, level 7 felony.

Description: Tilcock is accused of engaging in fighting or brawling with Chase. He allegedly placed Chase in a chokehold multiple times during the fight, choking him to the point of losing consciousness, and can be seen stomping on the victim’s head and/or face.

State of Kansas vs. Justin Ronald Dillner. 

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-124. Year of Birth: 1981.

Address: Hesston. Date of the alleged crime: May 19, 2025. 

1 — Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, level 7 felony. 

2 — Criminal property damage, level 9 felony.

Description: Dillner is accused of driving his vehicle through a victim’s gate and then directly at him, causing him reasonable bodily harm.

State of Kansas vs. Chad Ellsworth Wolcott

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-125. Year of Birth: 1983. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 19, 2025. 

1 — Violation of a protective order, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Wolcott is accused of contacting a protected person under a Protection From Abuse Order.

State of Kansas vs. Blythe Christine Tucker

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-126. Year of Birth: 1992.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: May 18, 2025. 

1 — Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor. 

Description: Tucker is accused during an argument of striking a victim in the back and tearing his shirt.

State of Kansas vs. Brooke Elizabeth Pelkey

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-127. Year of Birth: 1998.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 19, 2025. 

1 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor. 

2 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 felony.

3 — Possession of marijuana (THC), Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Pelkey is accused of possessing methamphetamine and marijuana, a smoking pipe, and baggies.

State of Kansas vs. Maurice Jerome-Pernell Fuller

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-128. Year of Birth: 2004.

Address: Mulvane. Date of the alleged crime: May 26, 2025. 

1 — Driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, Class B misdemeanor. 

2 — Consumption of alcoholic beverages by a minor, Class C misdemeanor.

Description: Fuller is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol of .078 after being pulled over for speeding. Fuller allegedly admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages even though he was not 21 years of age.

State of Kansas vs. Daniel Aaron Dawson

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-129. Year of Birth: 1987.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 22, 2025. 

1 — Aggravated domestic battery, level 7 felony. 

Description: Dawson is accused, during a dispute over the cleanliness of his stepson’s room, of putting him in a chokehold, restricting his breathing, and leaving marks and bruises consistent with his version of events.

State of Kansas vs. Brian Scott Youngers

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-130. Year of Birth: 1963.

Address: Wichita. Date of the alleged crime: May 30, 2025.

1 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 felony. 

Description: Youngers is accused, during an arrest for unrelated warrants, of possessing a small amount of methamphetamine in his jacket.

State of Kansas vs. Miguel Rey Machado

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-131. Year of Birth: 1986.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 28, 2025. 

1 — Burglary of a vehicle, level 9 felony. 

2 — Theft, Class A misdemeanor.

3 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

4 — Possession of marijuana (THC), Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Machado is accused of entering an unlocked compartment of a F550 work truck belonging to USA Communications and taking a DeWalt tool bag containing miscellaneous tools with a reported value of $515. During a search of Machado’s residence for the alleged above crime, he allegedly possessed a red and green smoking device with residue and a quantity of THC wax.

State of Kansas vs. Jody Ryan Shook

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-132. Year of Birth: 1987.

Address: Mulvane. Date of the alleged crime: May 19, 2025. 

1 — Violation of protective order, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Shook is accused of being served a temporary Protection From Abuse order by going to the victim’s home and disabling the automatic gate.

State of Kansas vs. Brian Keith Mashburn

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-133. Year of Birth: 1977. 

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: May 31, 2025. 

1 — Possession of methamphetamine, level 5 felony.

2 — Possession of drug paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor.

Description: Mashburn is accused of possessing a quantity of methamphetamine in a cut straw and a plastic container.

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-134. Year of Birth: 1980.

Address: Wellington. Date of the alleged crime: June 3, 2025. 

1 — Possession of paraphernalia for use, Class B misdemeanor. 

Description: Bauer is accused of possessing a glass smoking pipe with residue.

State of Kansas vs. Steven Eugene Vaughn

Case Number: SU-2025-CR-135. Year of Birth: 1978.

Address: Caldwell. Date of the alleged crime: June 5, 2025. 

1 — Violation of a Protective Order, Class A misdemeanor. 

Description: Vaughn is accused of texting a protected person outside the provision allowed in a Protection From Abuse order.
