The Bureau of Reclamations and The Army Corps of Engineers that manage the Arkansas River basin flood control has begun the release of water from Cheney Lake starting Wednesday morning for an unspecified amount of time. All three rivers in Sumner County (Chikaskia, Ninnescah, Arkansas) are currently in flood stage, and are expected to remain in flood stage until possibly Friday morning.
