Wellington Varsity Tennis wins Pratt Invitational:

Crusaders place first as a team in the 10-team Pratt Invitational on Thursday with four Crusaders bringing home medals.

Individual Results:
No. 1 singles – Maverick Peterson, 4-0.
No. 2 singles – Gannon Worley, 3-1.
No. 1 doubles – Hernandez/Ledesma, 2-2, fifth.
No. 2 doubles – Lough/Stewart, 4-0.

Wellington JV Tennis:

Wellington takes second as a team, and five junior varsity Crusaders received medals at the opening quad in Circle.

No. 1 singles – Platt Wilmoth, 2-1.
No. 2 singles – Sebastian Jones, 0-3, fourth.
No. 1 doubles – Liam Swingle/Conner Bustraan, 2-1.
No. 2 doubles – Parker Franke/Bentley Cain, 1-1.

WMS tennis: 
The top six players traveled to Ark City for an invitational. Eight teams participated, including: Wellington, Ark City, Winfield, Wichita Collegiate, Independence, Maize, Maize South, and Derby North.

“The boys faced many teams outside of our league and did very well,” said Ashley Collins, Wellington head girls tennis coach. “The weather was perfect for the first time this season, and we had a full day of really good tennis. There was so much to learn at this invitational from bigger schools than us.” As a team, the Knights tied for 5th place with Derby North.

#1 Singles: Treysen Williams – 6th place (1-3)
#2 Singles: Cayden Lira – 4th Place (2-3)
#1 Doubles: Brett Sawyer/Kyan Aufdengarten – 4th place (2-3)
#2 Doubles: Lane Swingle/Hudson Bacon – 6th Place (1-3).
