Sumner Newscow report — Wellington Humane Shelter Pet of the Week is Zebra.

Zebra has now been with the Wellington Humane Society for over 400 total days, and this happy, lovable boy is still bursting with excitement to find his forever family. But don’t let his kennel excitement fool you! Once he’s out and gets some of that energy out, Zebra can be a total couch potato and cuddle bug. He loves being with his people and is happiest when he can hang out and soak up some love.

At just over 3 years old and 64 pounds, Zebra is a Boxer mix with a HUGE heart and an even bigger zest for life. He is eager to please, loves attention, and has enough joy to fill an entire home! Zebra has spent time in a foster home, and he truly thrived! He did wonderfully with another dog his size and was fantastic with children of all ages. He enjoys having a canine companion who can keep up with his playful, energetic personality.

After more than 400 days of waiting, WHS officials think it’s more than time for Zebra to experience what he’s been hoping for all along—a family of his own. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, loyal best friend who will keep life exciting and happily snuggle up with you on the couch afterward, Zebra is your guy!

Stop in this week to meet this special pet. The shelter is open on Wednesday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are interested in adoption, please complete the online application before entering to speed up the adoption process.
