Wanda Jeffries

Wanda Jeffries, 86, of Wellington went to be with the Lord, September 30, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Wellington.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Wellington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington. Wanda Fae Jeffries was born March 22, 1930, the daughter of Floyd and Leona (Nuttle) Wampler in Wellington, Kansas. She attended Wellington High School. On December 7, 1947 Wanda was united in marriage to George Clair Jeffries in Wellington. Wanda worked as a cashier at the Mayfield Meat Locker and Dillons. She was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and singing. Wanda loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Charlie Jeffries and his wife Connie, Tresea Edgington, Ron Jeffries and his wife Lana, Georgetta Ferguson and her husband Jeff, and Roxanne Jackson and her husband Ken all of Wellington; and her sister, Neola Heasty of Wellington; 18 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

Wanda is preceded in death by her loving husband, George; her parents; her brother, Neal (Sonny); and a sister, Susan Johnson.
