Wellington’s Cayson Ramirez dominated Keedrin Jones on Thursday night.

Madi Fullerton was dominant in her 130 pound match on Thursday.

By Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — In a rather short 40-minute dual, the Crusaders split with Rose Hill in an Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. IV wrestling showdown Thursday night.

The evening featured just two girls and nine boys’ matches. Wellington girls dominated with a 59-6 win, while the Rose Hill boys dominated Wellington 52-18. This was the start of a very busy wrestling weekend as Wellington travels to Rossville for matches on Friday and Saturday.

Only 125-pounder Dalica Tittle and 130-pounder Madelynn Fullerton were on the wrestling mat. Tittle was pinned by Dordan Henry of Rose Hill in :36 while Fullerton dominated Kamoryn Halley of Rose Hill 15-0.

On the boys side, Wellington got one on-the-mat match victory. 195-pounder Cayson Ramirez pinned Keedrin Jones (yes, the running back in football) in 36 seconds.

Elsewhere, the two-time Class 4A defending state champion swept Wellington with seven pins and a major decision at 285 (Lucas Brown over Noah McComb).
