Wellington High School announces top 10 and Valedictorians for 2016

Crusader head logoSpecial to Sumner Newscow — The Wellington High School administration is proud to announce the Valedictorians and top 10 percent of the 2015-2016 senior class. 

 “It is with my pleasure to name Madison Adams, Ryleigh Buck, Addyson DeJarnett, Baylee DeJarnett, Dylan Jones, Jaylynn Luna, Allison McCue, Shelby McNamara, McKenna Oathout, Connor Phelps, Dietra Sober, Skyler Struble, Peyton Witham and Noelle Wright as the Valedictorians and top ten percent,” said Adam Hatfield, principal of WHS.

“All of these students completed the requirements established by the USD 353 Board of Education for graduation and the Kansas Scholars Curriculum established by the Kansas Board of Regents,” Hatfield said.Baccalaureate will be held on Sunday, May 8, 3:00 p.m. at The Free Will Baptist Church located at 1219 North Plum.

Class Night for the seniors will be held Thursday, May 12 beginning at 7 p.m. with Commencement ceremonies to take place on Sunday, May 15, 2 p.m. Both programs will be held in the Wellington High School Gymnasium.

Seniors will receive 10 tickets to give to family and friends for priority seating for the commencement program. Doors will open at 1 p.m. for ticket holders with the general public being seated at 1:30 p.m. The gymnasium provides ample seating so please don’t hesitate to attend the ceremony.

 “We are very proud of all of our seniors and their accomplishments,” Adams said.
