Sumner Newscow report — The Wellington Humane Society Pet of the Week is Gizmo!

Gizmo’s story is one of those that reminds us just how important second chances are. Gizmo came to us after being dumped in the country and then spending time at the pound. During his intake process with the humane society, he sadly tested positive for heartworms. That didn’t let that stop WHS staff and volunteers from giving this boy the care he needed, and immediately he was started on heartworm treatment.

Heartworm treatment is expensive, and it takes several months to complete—but thanks to the shelter’s support, Gizmo got the treatment he needed. And now there is  wonderful news… Gizmo is officially DONE with treatment and ready to find his forever home!

At around 3–4 years old and a whopping 87 pounds, Gizmo is one BIG boy! He has a large, adorable face and an even larger heart. This boy is big love, big energy, and an all-around GOOD BOY! He’s ready to leave his shelter days behind and start the next chapter of his life with someone who will love him as much as we do. Gizmo has already overcome so much. Now he just needs one more thing: YOU. Come meet Gizmo and see for yourself what a big-hearted boy he is!

And as always, thank you to everyone who supports Wellington Humane Society. Your support literally changes—and saves—lives.
