WHS girls tennis:

The girls tennis team won its third straight tournament at the Circle Invitational on Thursday.

Wellington won the eight team tournament with 62 points. Circle placed second with 59. Other team scores included: Andover Central 49, Buhler 48, El Dorado 39, Augusta 17, Haven 10, and Neodesha 6.

In No. 1 singles, Abby Lowe placed third going 2-1 in the day Payton De Meyer of Buhler in the third-place match 8-2.

In No. 2 singles, Lexi Saffell finished second, losing to Summer Schaegenberg of Circle 8-0 in the championship match.

In No. 1 doubles, Mekenna Adams/Kylie Aufdengarten won the No. 1 doubles division with an 8-6 victory over a Buhler duo.

In No. 2 doubles, Rylee and Avery Rusk finished first with a victory over a Circle duo 8-5.

WHS girls golf:

Wellington traveled to Winfield with three girls as one was sick. Payton Ginter, a freshman, placed 20th with a 112 score. Alisa Walters, a sophomore, finished 25th with a 117. Taylor Heasty placed 33rd with a 143 score.
