Fourth of July Roundup: Here’s a list of fireworks shows and rules throughout Sumner County

Here are the dates for public fireworks shows and the rules for shooting off fireworks for the six biggest Sumner County communities and the unincorporated part of the county.

Wellington 

People within the Wellington city limits can discharge fireworks from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., July 1 through Jule 3, and 10 a.m. to midnight on July 4. Retail sale hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from July 1 through July 4. Click here for a list of rules and regulations.

The Fourth of July Public Fireworks display will be held at Hargis Watershed this year on Tuesday beginning at dusk. The fireworks will be discharged on the East end of the dam. Click here for the map.

Belle Plaine 

The annual fireworks display in Belle Plaine is taking place at Morley Field on Logan and 6th at dusk on July 4.

The Belle Plaine Police Department is also selling fireworks to the public on July 1-4 at 4th and Merchant Street. The Junior League is selling at 4th and Washington.

People in Belle Plaine can legally shoot fireworks from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from today through July 2. Then, on July 3-4, people can shoot from 10 a.m. to midnight.

Oxford 

As mentioned here, The Oxford Masonic Lodge is hosting its annual fireworks show at its new location at Napawala Park around dusk on the west side next to Colorado Street. Seating will be on the west side in the large open area.

The Masonic Lodge also hosts a free fireworks demo on July 1 starting around 7:45 p.m. The Lodge will be demonstrating the newest fireworks and all the favorites. The demo and fireworks stand is located at 201 N. Sumner in Oxford. There will be a 20 percent discount being offered only on July 1.

Oxford residents can shoot off fireworks from 10 a.m. to midnight. People need to be mindful of the city noise ordinance.

Caldwell 

Caldwell will present their annual fireworks display at the Athletic Complex at dusk on July 4.

Leading up to the festivities downtown, the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce and KanOkla Networks will host a Medallion Hunt beginning on June 28, with the winner getting $300. This will be the first time the Caldwell Medallion Hunt has been held in five years.

Fireworks are permitted from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday and 8 a.m. to midnight on Tuesday.

Conway Springs

Conway Springs will not have a public fireworks show.

Fireworks can be shot in Conway Springs but only on private property from July 1 to July 4 from 8 a.m. to midnight.

Argonia

There will be no public fireworks show.

Shooting hours: People can shoot between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4.

Sumner County (unincorporated part of the county)

There are no fireworks from July 1 through July 4, 8 a.m. to midnight.
